Friends of Banded Peak parent council has raised over $8K in 3 years for student learning tools and field trips with food fundraising for Banded Peak School!

AboutĀ Friends of Banded PeakĀ

Banded Peak School is an elementary school in Bragg Creek, Alberta, serving students from kindergarten to grade 8. Its staff and teachers are dedicated to helping students become lifelong learners and responsible community members.

The school prides itself on being a community school, building strong relationships between parents, the school, and the broader community. Its motto is, ā€œAt Banded Peak, We Strive to be the Best That We Can Be!ā€

They hope to embed the value of personal excellence into each student as they take on any endeavour, whether it be fine arts, sports, leadership, or good citizenship. Personal excellence is not defined by comparison to others, but instead by doing the best with the skills, knowledge, and abilities that we possess at the time.

Banded Peak Council is a structured group of parents, principals, teachers, and community members who meet to discuss topics such as funding, curriculum, class sizes, standardized tests, school policies, and more. These meetings allow parents to be involved with the school and improve their childrenā€™s school experience.

TheĀ Friends of Banded Peak SocietyĀ is an organization within the council that is responsible for raising the funds through Casinos (AGLC) as well as several other fundraising efforts throughout the year such as walk a thons, auctions, and school apparel.

Fundraising forĀ School Learning Initiatives with Food

One fundraiser that Banded Peak Society has returned to every year since 2022 is the Fill Your Freezer Fundraiser!

This fundraiser allows parents and community members to stock up on groceries they would likely be purchasing anyway. In return, the school earns an average of 20% of every sale.*

Friends of Banded Peak Society has helped to provide many opportunities for the school, including funding for:

The school has a strong community and people outside of their direct community contribute to their fundraisers.

As a result, Banded Peak Society raised $2,897.25 of their $3500 goal this year with their delicious Fill Your Freezer fundraiser.

Since 2022, Friends of Banded Peak Society has raised over $8400 with frozen food fundraisers (and counting). Congratulations to the parent council and dedicated volunteers who make it possible!Ā

TeamFund helps organizers avoid cash payments, easily share their fundraiser online, reduce fundraising fatigue, and access real-time reports to keep track of their progress.

In 2024, Rebecca took over the role and found the experience just as seamless as a new organizer:

ā€œThis is our third year having a TeamFund fundraiser. TeamFund makes the process easy and it doesn’t take much time or energy to organize and execute. It’s an easy fundraiser that makes a good profit, so it’s a no-brainer for us to continue working with TeamFund.ā€
