The Foothills Bisons Hockey Club, based in High River and surrounding communities, has built a program rooted in teamwork, leadership, and community support.

In their second season partnering with TeamFund to offer food fundraising to help offset costs for their members, the Bisons achieved an exciting milestone: nearly doubling their results year over year.

In 2025, the Foothills Bisons raised over $4,100 with the Fill Your Freezer fundraiser, demonstrating what’s possible when families, coaches, and organizers are aligned around an easy, effective fundraising plan.

Families who had previously participated were excited to restock on their favourite products and new participants were excited to give it a taste. This built-in enthusiasm helped drive momentum early, ensuring strong engagement across the entire club.

From the moment the campaign opened, families stepped up with confidence, sharing their unique fundraising link and encouraging friends and extended networks to support the team.

That level of buy in – both emotional and practical – helped the bisons surpass expectations and achieve one of their strongest fundraising campaigns yet. With this engagement, their goal percentage raised from 59% to 104%, nearly doubling their fundraising results from the previous year.

This year, the bisons raised $4,192 for their members.

These results speak volumes about the culture of the Foothills Bisons Hockey program. The club fosters an environment where families are connected, coaches lead with purpose, and athletes benefit from a supportive community that truly believes in their success. 

When those elements come together, fundraising becomes more than a seasonal task. It becomes a shared achievement.

Despite being a small town, both clubs achieved similar success—showing just how powerful small town fundraisers can be when the community rallies together and is a reflection of the community’s generosity and the pride residents take in supporting young athletes across all sports.

Throughout the figure skating fundraising campaign, families rallied and promoted the fundraiser throughout the community and encouraged neighbours, relatives, and other local supporters to participate. 

Bacon Fundraising has been a reliable favourite for Lashburn Figure Skating Club, offering an easy, high-demand product that consistently generates strong sales. The club’s ability to maintain stable results across multiple seasons speaks to their thoughtful planning, strong communication, and deep community roots.

This summer, we had the pleasure of partnering with Alberta Cheer Empire Athletes Association, a cheerleading club based in Edmonton, Alberta. This July, they ran their first TeamFund campaign, a BBQ Meats fundraiser. 

The results exceeded expectations, raising over $4,100 for the club and offering a powerful example of what’s possible for cheer programs looking for an effective, reliable fundraiser.

Common Cheer Fundraising Challenges

Like many cheerleading organizations, Alberta Cheer Empire Athletes Association needed to fundraise to support costs that come with competitive cheer:

• Training and coaching expenses

Yellowknife Gymnastics Club is the only gymnastics club in the Northwest Territories. Running over 170 classes each year for their community, the club provides recreational and competitive gymnastics in a safe and supportive environment. Their mission is to promote overall life-long fitness, skill development, and positive self-esteem for all their athletes. 

Their competitive programming focuses on advanced skills, strength, and flexibility, with gymnasts showcasing their routines during competitions both in-house and across Canada, in provinces such as British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

Travel is a key way the club provides an enriched experience for their athletes. Travelling for competitions not only allows gymnasts to flex their skills, but also fosters team bonding, team spirit, goal setting, and builds self-esteem.

In May 2025, the club raised $4,126 with BBQ Meats for their athletes.

About Mountain Shadows Gymnastics Club 

Mountain Shadows Gymnastics Club is a privately owned gymnastics club offering top-tier recreational and competitive programming for youth athletes. 

The owner, Jim, founded Altadore Gymnastics Club in Calgary and opened Mountain Shadows Gymnastics in 1996 to offer gymnastics programming to the Okotoks area. 

Their annual competitive program runs from July to June, with gymnasts attending local meets in Alberta and British Columbia, and even travelling to the USA to compete. Gymnasts from Mountain Shadows have consistently earned gold medals and provincial titles, fostering a team environment that feels like family.  

To help offset the costs associated with competitive gymnastics, such as meet fees, specialized training camps, rent for their facility, and coach wages, the club runs several fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
