Since 2022, Foothills Navy League has returned to TeamFund to fundraise with food. They have returned for a Fill Your Freezer 2-3x per year, raising $4500. These funds directly support the purchase of uniforms, keeping camp costs low, and exciting extracurricular activities for cadets.

About Foothills Navy League

Based in Langdon, Alberta, the Foothills Navy League is dedicated to shaping today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders. Through dynamic, nautically themed cadet programming, they serve youth aged 9-12, fostering essential life skills in a supportive team environment.

Meeting weekly from September to June, the program offers a wealth of opportunities for youth to build skills, make friends, and have fun. Their mission is to promote leadership, citizenship, self-discipline, and respect for others, preparing cadets for positive futures.

Fundraising with Food: The Fill Your Freezer Advantage

Keeping program costs low for families ensures that participation in cadets is accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. To fund uniforms, keep camp fees low, and provide incredible extracurriculars like scuba diving, sailing, swimming, and more, the league actively offers various fundraising opportunities for families throughout the year.

One fundraiser that they have consistently returned to since 2022 is TeamFund’s Fill Your Freezer fundraiser. The league runs this tasty fundraiser 2-3 times per year to raise funds with ease. Over the years, they have raised between $1100 – $1500 by filling their freezers:

This Spring, they’ve added another $508.65 toward keeping costs low and providing a great experience for their cadets and we can’t wait to see how the Fall goes!

In return, the league earns an average of 20% profits back from every purchase to directly support their cause.

About 903 Strathmore Cadets

The surprising secret ingredient to building strong citizens (and raising more in your next youth group or team fundraiser)? Fun and Teamwork!

903 Strathmore Royal Canadian Air Force Cadets is a non-profit youth program for ages 12-18 based out of Strathmore, Alberta. The program aims to empower youth aged 12 – 18 through challenging, fun, and rewarding activities that help build valuable life skills. .

Their programs cover a plethora of activities: aviation, marksmanship, speech, field survival, physical fitness, leadership, music, and teaching. The Cadets offer a unique learning experience, using practical real-life situations that require teamwork to help youth learn the value of working together to accomplish their goals.

Youth come away from the program learning mutual respect, forming lifelong friendships, and building a community with long-lasting impact.

Cadets Fundraising Supports Training and Other Activities

As a non-profit organization, the 903 Strathmore Cadets look to community support to help raise funds to support training and other activities. Fundraising and cadets both have incredible benefits for team building:

  • Developing relationships with the community
  • Practice communication skills
  • …and more!

To raise funds, Cadets take part in bottle drives, parade nights, and cash calendars. One fundraiser they return to year after year is TeamFund’s Fill Your Freezer Fundraiser. 

In 2022, their first Fill Your Freezer fundraiser raised just over $700 for their group. While they didn’t quite reach their goals, they decided to give it another try!

With consistency, tasty products with families in mind, and an easy online platform….  they have been able to double their fundraisers twice to achieve an incredible profit of $5189.50 in Spring 2024! 

Overcoming Fundraising Challenges 

In their first attempt with TeamFund, the group brought in just $703 with 100% fresh Canadian bacon. While they were still able to bring in a little bit of money for their organization, they knew they could do better.

The challenge? Low engagement– they needed a way to excite the community. The group changed up their strategy and followed up in 2023 with a Fill Your Freezer Fundraiser.

The Fill Your Fundraiser Took Off! ✈️ 

Bigger Boxes = Bigger Sales. But if the product isn’t the right fit for your group? You might need to switch things up.
